Diane ValeI began working in the caring profession when I was 15 years old after my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I began working as a care assistant and progressed to Deputy Manager within five years. I now have 25 years’ experience as a Manager, with eight of those years as a Residential Care Home Manager.
I have achieved my NVQ 5 in General Management and have commenced NVQ 7 to further my knowledge and understanding of the Manager’s role. I am happy to continue with my learning as I feel that you are never too old to learn new things, and this keeps me up to date with new ideas, theories and working practices which inevitably assists me in my chosen role.
I am very passionate about my work and about those I care for. I teach and train my staff to a high standard to enable them to care for our residents as they would like to be cared for themselves. I have a proactive approach to management and regularly work alongside the staff to offer support and mentoring whilst ensuring I am available to the residents and their families.
My vision for Eastwood Lodge is to make this a home filled with residents who have a happy and fulfilled life. Our activities organisers provide meaningful activities to keep the residents active. The residents are given the choice as to what they want to do. Trips and outings are arranged when the weather allows and we are very lucky that we are in a very popular village with lots of amenities for the residents to attend and join in with. Our care staff ensure that the residents have their care needs fulfilled if they need it and that they are safe and secure.
Eastwood Lodge is an extremely friendly and well-organised care home. The staff come to work with excitement and vigour for their shifts which enables them to provide high-quality care to our residents. The staff will go the extra mile to ensure the residents are happy and content.

Our exceptionally friendly home managers ensure that all individual medical and care needs of residents are met, and our auxiliary staff are able to cater to a variety of other cultural or dietary requirements.
